PHCC
Alumni Spotlight
By
Lynn Rothman-Venus
Director of Marketing and Public Relations
PHCC alumnus and novelist Paul Peters
has fond memories of PHCC faculty, particularly Kay Cramer, his creative writing
professor. On the dedication page of his first published novel Stormbound, Peters
has written a dedication to Cramer, calling her a wonderful teacher and
mentor.
Peters
successful career is even more commendable in light of the fact that he dropped
out of Springstead High School in 9th grade.
The
dedicated instructors on the North Campus gave me not only the abilities and knowledge
to succeed, says Peters, but more importantly, the support and confidence
I needed at that time in my life.
Peters
served as Student Government President on the North Campus 1992-1993 and graduated
with an AA degree in 1993. He went on to earn a BS from Florida State University
and a MS from Nova Southeastern University.
Today,
Peters teaches World History and World History Honors at Apopka High School in
Orlando, Florida. Stormbound is his first novel and is available for purchase
on Amazon.com. He is presently working on two other science fiction genre projects:
The Coming Storm (a sequel to Stormbound) and a new novel entitled, The Earthman
Cometh. If youd like to get in touch with Peters you can visit his Web site
at www.paulpeters.net
I
will always be grateful to Pasco Hernando for giving me a second chance to work
towards my dreams.
